Google child company YouTube is rolling out a new ‘Pause’ feature that can be utilized by content creators. It allows creators to stop new comments yet keep the existing ones.
Limited control in YouTube’s comment section pushed the new rollout of the Pause feature.
The new feature was highlighted in a blog post published on Thursday.
Pause is located within the comments panel in YouTube Studio, and actively puts a notification out to all users indicating the comments are paused with the previous ones.
Tested in October, there was a positive response from the public, pushing for the new feature.
In addition to the new feature, YouTube renamed existing moderation settings making them easier to comprehend.
Settings now include On, Pause, and Off. Setting on allows you to select more control. Off leaves comments with no moderation and Pause stops new comments, leaving the other ones for viewing still.
