Gadget Tech: The New Rabbit R1 Powered By AI

01-11-2024

Introduction:

CES 2024 is bringing a wide range of products to consumers, and we're here for it. The Rabbit R1 was just unveiled to the public with its primary focus being to navigate apps so you don't have to. Powered by a Large Action Model, it's not aimed to replace smartphones, but CEO Jesse Lyu believes it's so ambitious it just might.

Half the size of an iPhone with a 2.88-inch touchscreen, a rotating camera, and a scroll wheel and button to navigate and use to communicate with the built-in assistant, the R1 is pretty advanced for something so small.

The R1 has a 2.3GHz MediaTek Processor, 4GB of Memory, 128GB of Storage, and a battery that lasts the user all day.

Rabbit OS:

The operating system within is referred to as Rabbit OS and is based on a Large Language Model. It has the ability to carry out a wide range of tasks, some being control music, order food, and more. The beauty behind it is no physical action.

The screen on the Rabbit R1 is to confirm the details the software puts together before sending off an order.

The model knows how to use apps for itself, taught by humans interacting with apps such as Doordash, Soundcloud, and more.

Training mode gives users the ability to teach the device something they need to do. It consists of a simple process that becomes automatic to the LLM.

A voice assistant that is much more than that, Rabbit OS was designed with security in mind.

Other:

Rabbit announced their initial 10,000 units set for preorder have already been sold out and are now taking pre-orders for a second shipment in the spring. Rabbit R1 is available for preorders at $199.
